Plans are
already underway for the 35th Anniversary Rally, slated for West

XI Convention International BMW Monterrey,
Nuevo Leon, MX (International BMW Rally of Mexico)
If sufficient members and friends register to attend (you must
pre-register) Ken will arrange for a motel for all to reserve
rooms on Wednesday night near the border crossing in McAllen,
Texas. We would then cross the border as a group on Thursday
morning and ride in one or more groups to the rally in Monterrey.
Monterrey, Mexico is about 150 miles from McAllen, Texas and
an easy one-day ride. At this time I have no plans for
additional travel in Mexico after the rally so I probably will
return to the border on Sunday. However I might be persuaded
to change plans for an interesting destination in Mexico...
Be advised that Liability Insurance is mandatory and strongly
advised while riding in Mexico. There are a number of
reputable companies writing coverage and only a few that offer
collision and theft so do your research now. I like to use
Sanborns Insurance (www.sanbornsinsurance.com)
even though they tend to be more expensive. They will only
write collision and theft for groups of five or more motorcycles.
Please check the prices for registration and hotel accommodations
before committing to attend. This is not a camp-out rally
and it is expensive as it is a first-class, 5-star event! I
(Ken) have attended before and it is efficiently run with the very
best hospitality and kindness for foreign guests.
