Bob I visited the park with my son-in-law, Ken Flynn and some memgers of the Austin BMW club members. We stayed in Alpine at a motel and traveled to and from the park. We visited the Chisos Basin and made the river road run plus various other roade running through the park. You will enjoy.

Peggy and I stayed at the Marathon Motel on the western end of Marathon. It's 43 miles north of the park. I don't remember seeing to many places to stay in Terlingua. Hell I don't re bearing seeing much of anything in Terlingua .
As far as the park, we took all the scenic routes, stopped at the Window Etc.
Lots if great roads, not a lot of people, A Lot of wildlife.

The Big Bend motor inn at terlingua has rooms and kitchenettes. The the Chisos Mining Company on FM 170 has some rooms a little cheaper a mile or so down the road too. They have kitchenette also that are about a 100 bucks a night. I like the solitude down there. I always carry a barking iron ;)
